My order has now been labeled "Order Taken" (was "Pre Ordered" before)... I guess that counts as progress! :D

Don`t be stupid..
Mine status was "Pre Ordered" and it is "Order Taken" now,
but when i phoned them, nice lady said that N800 are "Out Of Stock"
and order will be dispatched within next 4-28 days..

If I don't see it shipped today, tempted to take my business to expansys, who IIRC are now £183 and have stock.

The new £40 one with cheaper display? If so would be real interested in what you think of the display and overal look of it.

Sold my M2000 last month cause I could not justify more M2000's and M1000's for other rooms, gutted as the new one is the right price.

Joker, don`t be so angry..
First, they changing the dates of release couple times, now they are out of stock..
Isn`t that make fools from all of us (incl.me, i am waiting too)..?

Did it occur to you that maybe they received stock, and the ones who ordered first have now had their N800s allocated? And thus it's showing as 'Out of stock' on the site..?!

Well, whatever the case, they've got more customers than stock. They've probably sent out as many orders as they could and the rest now have to wait. Makes me wonder if they're fulfilling orders alphabetically. My surname is toward the end of the alphabet.

So none of us here have received our N800s. That's five of us.

I too am on the brink of going to Expansys, if only because I'm tired of Play.com yanking our chains. But that is around £40 more expensive (inc P&P).

Incidentally, we wouldn't have this issue if Nokia had a decent supply chain in the UK, and properly enforced RRPs, like most other tech companies (Nintendo, Apple etc).
