sound using earphones
 

(I'm an idiot when it comes to media players.) Using the earphones, I get very low sound to the right ear compared to the left. Is this normal. Why?

I just got my N800 and the headphones seem to be fine with proper balance. Have you tried another pair of headphones in the jack to see if it's the phones or the unit?

Most probably you didn't push the connector completely inside the socket: it's very stiff, so in fear of breaking your new gadget you don't push hard enough ;)

Thanks to you both! You're right, I do get proper balance when I push the earphones in properly. And you're right, I was afraid to do that at first--seemed like I was forcing them. Now they work well.
