No, like I said, a brave company would launch the product with a slim (possibly non-existent) profit margin. So you'd be looking at $300.

Asus have managed to get a lot of this into something not much larger than the Nokia tablets -- the Eee. Remember that companies produce prototypes based not on what's available right now, but what's available in time for launch. Assuming one or two years R&D (which is quick!), it's easy to imagine that the technology will be ready and competitively priced.

But this is all fantasy.

The Eee is nearly twice as wide, twice as long and more than twice as thick. These are hardly comparable sized gadgets. ;)

I should think a lot of that space is eaten up with the battery and like I said, I admit the battery technology right now isn't quite up to my dream device.

Everything else is here, and can be miniaturised. It might present challenges but it's doable.
