this is the same kind of issue that I'm having. it has to do with having bluetooth connected to a phone before turning on mapper. I'm having this isssue wit h mapper 2.03 os2007he. If i turn on mapper before letting it connect to my phone, the problem seems to go away.

Maemo Mapper v2.0.4 has been released.

This release adds a couple of minor features and
fixes a slew of minor bugs. See the changelog

Is it just me, or are the maps taking up more space than before? In the past I've predownloaded the maps for Fairbanks and North Pole. It used to take around 800Mb. Now the same area says it's going to take around 4Gb! Same zoom levels for both.

Yeah, they do seem to take up more space. I have a couple problems though... When I zoom with any map (street/satellite) into a zoom level of 0 or 1, the download doesn't work. It says something like 49 maps failed to download. What's going on with this?
Another problem semi-related is that it downloads tons of maps for one area view. Why doesn't it just download the maps of my view? I would think this might be better because I used to be able to connect to my t-mobile 5.99 web plan and download maps as I drove. Now, it won't download any and says "xxx maps failed to download" and I'm guessing it's because of the slower connection. Is there a fix for this? TIA

Uh, the prediction is "up to" 4 Gb. In reality, it ends up being much less...

I'm not sure zoom levels 0-3 even exist as downloadable. I always thought they were magnifications of level 4 (= the old level 0)

I'm also having a bit of trouble with this. My 3G/EDGE connection is extremely lousy (lots of packet losses etc.) and the 'processing maps' takes many minutes every time there are maps to be updated (or fail to update). Maybe the download area margin could be made configurable?

Just installed the 2.0.4 upgrade. MM is really one of the top candidates for "the Nokia Internet Tablet Killer Application" IMO. Great program!

I'm having a REAL hard time finding this. I was quite used to the larger map view in v1.4. Pretty handy when mounted on the dash. Can someone point me in the right direction?

I think there may be a bug with the distance calculations. Last night i checked the track distance from my home to the Beacon Theater in Manhattan and it said that I traveled over 3,000 miles. Could this be due to the new more detailed zoom levels?

Feature request: could you make it so if you are traveling below this speed it will collect the coordinates it gets and produce an average of them? So the longer you stand still the more accurate your position should get in theory. This is useful when geocaching when placing a cache somewhere, you want your coordinates to be as accurate as possible when sharing with others and don't mind standing around for a few minutes to get the average position.
