Very useful (and current) maemo Repo lists...

I haven't seen this anywhere on the ITT forums, but forgive me (people love flaming duplicate posts, don't they?! :p) if I'm repeating something:

Pretty cool!

I was about to acclaim this as a Godsend.

But then I tried it. I still can't find smbfs for OS2007.

I'm not 100% sure (I am for nfs) but I think you can find precompiled modules for smbfs here: http://fanoush.wz.cz/maemo/ more precisely this file: http://fanoush.wz.cz/maemo/4.2007-modules.tar.gz

Now if there was a way to export this and import it into application manager... so you don't have to type it all in.
Would be nice to just be able to grab a sources.list file!

It's not that hard to add install links for the listed Repos... I'll contact the owner and see if he/she can do that for us. ;)

No, no smb stuff in there. Probably a good thing because I am fine with repositories and .deb files, but have never even seen a .ko file before now.

That site
http://www.gronmayer.com/n800/repos/index.php
has been mentioned here several times in the just the last couple of weeks...
http://www.internettablettalk.com/fo...ad.php?t=11232
but good for anyone who missed it.

admmelancon, when you find a repository you want to use there, just click on the title/name and a .install file automatically adds that repository to your App Manager. No typing!

Tim, just saw your reply... it is already clickable.

Thanks!

Yes, very cool. I was too lazy to compare what was there to what I have, so I just went thru and added everything.

Does backup keep a copy of sources.list? I think so...

Well, there'e a cifs.ko module there, that's what needed to connect to samba shares, plus userspace utilities. Look on maemo.org, there should be a wiki page explaining how to set it up. Or wait for OS2008, which supposedly has this functionality out of the box.

Possibly the best method for me.
