Did you see the video? I'd agree if it was a how-to-upgrade video. But it just shows OS2008 features running on the N800, so blurred that it is hard to make out. No offence to DIO, but Reggie did a much better job of demonstrating OS2008 for anyone that is curious.

Why do I need "Flasher" and Linux for the upgrading procedure?

No, you can't do that thru Nokia Updater because is an "unnoficial" installation. The official one will be released for Nokia in mid December.

Another question: The N800 has an internal cardreader too - will both be recognized by OS2008? I mean internal AND external card-slot?

Last question: Will it be possible to update the "not legal" OS2008 release for N800 with the "legal" OS2008 upgrade provided by NOKIA in middle of december?

when the official release will be out you can refresh tne nokia n800 with the windows versione of nokia software update :)

Boot from memory card? yes but i don't know if there is a way to extract the file .Bin of the firmware...

No, not booting.
The N800 has an internal and external memory card slot. The N810 has only an external one. So will be both - internal and external - memorycard slots recognized by the N810's software?

Sorry i didnt't understand the question. OK well. Yes already in this version of Os2008 for n810 the 2 memory card slots are successfully recognized by te OS. They work 100% good...

YES, the N800 running the unofficial OS2008 that was leaked recognizes both the internal SD slot (/media/mmc1) and the external slot (/media/mmc2). It behaves identically to OS2007 in allowing you to use the internal memory as virtual/swap.

YES, the official release of OS2008 (hopefully mid-December) will overwrite the previous install of the leaked OS2008. Just as those of us who went through repeated upgrades of OS2006, OS2007HE, OS2007 (.1 & .2), we'll be doing the same again for when Nokia makes OS2008 available to everyone.

Good questions... but there isn't an issue. OS2008 recognizes both slots, and will get overwritten if you upgrade the N800 again when Nokia releases it officially.
