N800 hardware revision
I just flashed my N800 with the beta OS2008 firmware and actually paid attention to the messages that the flasher spat out.
It said: Found device RX-34, hardware revision 1301 and interestingly before that it said: Image 'xloader', size 9088 bytes Valid for RX-34: 1301, 1302, 1501, 1502, 1503, 1504, 1601, 1602 Version 1.1.6-51 Does this mean there are 8 different hardware revisions for the N800 and I have the first? Anyone know what the differences are? What do other people get? Simon |
Re: N800 hardware revision
Interesting! I'll look for that when I finally upgrade. It'll be interesting to see how many types there are out there! BTW Simon, is your unit (1301) made in Korea or made in Finland? Maybe we could make a table of the results (if it turns out there are many revisions out there)

Re: N800 hardware revision
Mine's made in Finland. You can also see your hardware revision information on the bottom lefthand side (there are 3 fields, it's the middle one) when you reboot with R&D mode enabled (to avoid people needing to reflash to find out).

Re: N800 hardware revision
Found an easy way:
Code:
cat /proc/component_versionCode:
product RX-34 |
Re: N800 hardware revision
you can see it also via cat /proc/component_version in osso-xterm
I have 1301 too. This is a joy of being early adopter or developer. I wonder if they fixed the erratic touchscreen behaviour (now heavily filtered in kernel) in later HW revisions of N800. |

Re: N800 hardware revision
May be it is the n800 hardware with different add ons like the wimax chip for example??

Re: N800 hardware revision
I've got my N800 about a week ago and it also shows '1301'.
