Bots like that are usually tied to name and/or special char, as AnimS described. As e.g. on the debian irc. It's definitely better! :)

Yes, there's another bot in channel that does this properly.

I know there are more important things in the world.

I've also spent many hours training monkey for useful responses. I'm probably one of the people who has contributed most to this tool. But having it spit out some random garbage constantly is too annoying.

If it were totally useless, then ignoring it would be an option. But it is not totally useless. Hence. Lets please vote to make it useful.
