No WPA with ITOS 2008 Beta!!!
 

Just flashed my N800 with the ITOS 2008, and since I can't connect to my Netgear WTG264 when WPA-Security is enabled.

The Error Message I get is "Authentification failed. Retry?"

Anyone else experiencing this problem?

Did you by any chance type the WPA key with the fullscreen thumb keyboard ?
If so, try with the small one...

I have WPA2 on my netgear router and it's working just fine..

I find that the keyboard does an auto Capitolization
i.e. Password instead of password
make sure you hit the shift key for that first letter.
I think i want to turn that option off maybe keyboard prefs?
also i cant get certificates to work properly with ttls/mschapv2

Be sure you are NOT USING the LARGE thumb board! You might have fallen victim to the problem where it echos *'s as password fields are supposed to, but it actually SENDS those *'s instead of the password.

Yes, I can confirm this. I have been having this issue for 4 days now, but did not want to start a thread. Again I am late !

I can connect to a n/w with the following props using 0s2007 but on os2008 I get the authentication error as you.

N/W Details:

Network Type: Infrastructure (or Access Point)
TCP/IP: DHCP
EAP Type: PEAP
Network Authentication: WPA
Data Encryption: TKIP
Authentication Method/Protocol: MSCHAP-V2
Inner EAP Type: EAP-MSCHAPv2

I had the problem for a while and I had the skype issue too, which meant that the N800 was no more than a paper weight @ school. I hence flashed back OS2007 and I am all good.

I can confirm that this happened w/ two different N800's used by me and my colleague.

I have tried,

1. Thumb keyboard
2. Stylus Keyboard
and
3. BT keyboard :).

I hence think we can safely discard any caps lock / keyboard issues. So I am afraid there is really an issue.

I've connected to two or three different wpa wireless networks with no problem. Might try reflashing.

I have my N800 with OS2008 beta working with WPA-PSK working just fine.

Thanks for all your messages. I will then reflash my N800 and try again, once skype is stable in os2008. Any news about it ( skype stability) ? We flashed the same image on both N800's , may be there is some issue w/ the image. I will try try again and report.

One more issue with WPA on 2208 is that it is hard to connect to hidden networks - essentially you can only manually set up a fake net as WEP (the dialog is initially limited to that), let it fail, and then edit every parameter in the connection manager again (and watch out, the SSID is not set from your entered network name, but to some arbitrary network it happens to see during initial setup).
