You have to have the Doom wad file already

If you don't have the doom.wad file, you need to put it in the same folder as the executable. You will have to use the cp (copy) command in xterm to copy the file from your MMC card. You will type something like:

cp \media\mmc1\doom1.wad \<where doom is installed>\

thats: cp <sourcefile> <destinationfile>

I forgot where it is installed, and I am not near the 770 at the moment. Please don't ask me to email you this file, that is something that you need to get for yourself. You can always download the shareware version of the .wad file - search on Google.

Note that those \ should be /.

Unless there's been a new release that's been crippled in some way, the one I downloaded comes with the shareware .wad and loaded fine. To my recollection there weren't any dependencies that needed to be additionally installed.

My only suggestion is... try again. (Welcome to voodoo troubleshooting 101). After installation it should appear under the Extras menu along with the rest of your self-installed apps.

Actually I think you need the startup screen.

Aaah ok I think I see what's going on here. I had already installed several games (BattleGweled, MaemoDrac, etc...). I bet one of them had this lib packaged in the .deb.

So there's another idea. Grab BattleGweled and MaemoDrac (ya know you want them anyway) ;)
