Up.
Any update on this ? |

Anything in particular? I know this isn't *my* thread, but I tend to watch it nevertheless :) |
Re: gphoto2 + canon 20d + n810 = chunky super unstable eyefi
Is there an easier way to do simple photo cropping inside the N810?

Re: gphoto2 + canon 20d + n810 = chunky super unstable eyefi
I'm kinda stuck as I sold my old cam (which did work, caveats apply), I need 2.4.4 for my 'new' cam and don't have the time to set up a dev environment to compile my own ATM :(

Well, I'll see what I can do to help, but no promises :) |

attila77 (and others):
I spent the time last night and this morning trying to create another updated debian Maemo package for libgphoto2/gphoto2 2.4.4, as per request. As always, it is on my software page: http://darethehair.googlepages.com/software.html For whatever reason, I had lost my recent/helpful additions to my README file, so I had to re-learn how to do some of this stuff. As well, I ran into a software 'collision' (see README file) that you may or may not eventually encounter yourself re: /usr/lib/libltdl.la, etc., which is required by gphoto2, but also some *other* packages (including ones that I have created). WARNING: I have done *minimal* testing of this new version, leaving that to those of you that actually use this stuff on a regular basis. It is up to *you* to tell me whether it works or not (even though my ability to help is limited to adding some file that I may have missed putting in the package -- not the software itself). For reasons that I may live to regret, it seems that I have become the defacto maintainer of this port to Maemo. I would welcome someone else taking over this job -- who actually uses it more than I do :) |
Re: gphoto2 + canon 20d + n810 = chunky super unstable eyefi
A giant *THANKS* ! I just downloaded it and will try it out tonight, clouds permitting (or if they don't maybe just do a few in-house snaps to test it). I can generally compile stuff for myself but I lost my disk with my scratchbox enviroment on it a while back and couldn't talk myself into setting it up again just for libgphoto2 (for my own things, I use pyqt, so maemo is just a simple copy away from the desktop version).
PS. As for the .la .a, if I'm not mistaken, you don't actually need those unless you want to compile something on the slug itself (.a-s are usually distributed in -dev packages), so not a great loss if something gets mixed up there. |

At the very least, if this new version of gphoto2 doesn't work out for you, I then expect that you not require your new camera, so you may as well send it to me as a 'thankyou'. Sound good? :) (if only life were that easy) |

Sad to hear that it isn't quite working yet -- but I am even more sad that I am not getting your camera anytime soon :) Sorry that I have no way to help -- but it would sure be nice if you or anyone else could at least confirm that the latest gphoto2 works *at least* as good as the previous version, right? P.S. For some of the info in this 'screen print' images, I guess you could have just cut & pasted the text, which would have been a lot easier :) |
