Slacker Radio N800
I have tried extensively to find this info on the net and have come up empty so far. I'm considering getting an N800 and would like to know if the Slacker Radio website works properly? Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Slacker Radio N800
Slacker radio's site won't even load on my N800, it just goes black screen and hangs. So no.

Re: Slacker Radio N800
Update, it crashed the OS, had to reboot then tried it again and it loaded till the player tried to start then crashed the browser. It works great on my Mac Mini though, thanks.

Re: Slacker Radio N800
i haven't tried slacker radio, but i was directed to install vagalume on my new N800 when i mentioned having trouble at Pandora radio. vagalume let's you use last.fm radio with the heart and ban buttons.

Re: Slacker Radio N800
I wonder whether there is a way to suggest radio links to be included with the Internet readio directory.
WFMU.org, for example, is one I would DEFINITELY suggest (free-form, listener-supported,strictly non-commercial former college radio station featuring highly eclectic/eccentric programming/hosts based in New Jersey, streamed in multiple formats, lots of show archives, etc.) |
Re: Slacker Radio N800
If that's your style, you definitely should check out RadioParadise. I spend a lot of time there when I'm in front of my desktop.

Re: Slacker Radio N800
What about shoutcast?
|
Re: Slacker Radio N800
I like shoutcast and go there to pick up the Radioparadise station. But I really like the ability to pick my own artists and create my own station on Slacker.

Re: Slacker Radio N800
Vagalume lets you do just that. Type in an artist and it creates a station for them. All you need is a free Last.FM account.

Re: Slacker Radio N800
I've tried last.fm and like the social aspect of the program. However, I feel like the Slacker program is more customizable and has better sound quality. Maybe I'm wrong. Give Slacker a listen and tell me what you think vs. last.fm.

Re: Slacker Radio N800
Honestly, I don't use anything on Vagalume OTHER than the feature where you type in an artist and it creates a station. That's it. Thus, 'customizable' doesn't really mean anything. As for sound quality, to that I can't speak, as I'm usually listening with the built-in speakers of the Tablet, which are certainly nothing to write home about.
