Re: OS2008 Instant Messaging Upgrades
I presume that in Red Pill mode the Apps Mngr shows all the OS components, normally hidden when in normal mode, on the basis that it's only when in Red Pill mode that the Apps Mngr can do anything with them....

Re: OS2008 Instant Messaging Upgrades
Has anyone had issues with MSN connecting? I've tried EVERYTHING. I'm using a gmail address, I wonder if that makes a difference? It's simply not connecting. I've tried while being connected to MSN on another machine, as well as completely signed out of MSN, with no dice either way. :(

Re: OS2008 Instant Messaging Upgrades
I suspect that could be the problem with my setup as well since my MSN login is a Passport account with my gmail address as my login

Re: OS2008 Instant Messaging Upgrades
I'm having trouble installing this update...... I'm in red pill mode and the update doesn't show up. And my currently installed version doesn't have the new features. Any suggestions?

Re: OS2008 Instant Messaging Upgrades
rcadden ..... MSN Login
I have similar problems, but I've been focussing on gettting email & SIP workinf first, and there's only so many hours in a weekend ;-) I've tried, like you, logged in & out on another machine (PC), I also don't use a hotmail address, but another domain address (not gmail). Hope someone comes up with a solution, as I'm timed out for now.... Walter |
Re: OS2008 Instant Messaging Upgrades
Yipee I've got the upgrade working. Now, I don't know what I did the last time, but for some reason I installed Bluez, but this time the install worked right away and I'm over the moon with the improvement to the built-in chat and call for all the additional services.

what is bluez? The overall goal of this project is to make an implementation of the Bluetooth™ wireless standards specifications for Linux. The code is licensed under the GNU General Public License (GPL) and is now included in the Linux 2.4 and Linux 2.6 kernel series. http://www.bluez.org/ I'd refrain from installing on the N800/N810, it works well on my Ubuntu PC, but why I had it in the Aplication Manager and installed it I don't know???? |
