what is bluez?
The overall goal of this project is to make an implementation of the Bluetooth™ wireless standards specifications for Linux. The code is licensed under the GNU General Public License (GPL) and is now included in the Linux 2.4 and Linux 2.6 kernel series.

I'd refrain from installing on the N800/N810, it works well on my Ubuntu PC, but why I had it in the Aplication Manager and installed it I don't know????

Bluez *IS* everything Bluetooth on your tablet.

Another interesting observation:...
However, upon setting up my Yahoo account (after adding zerojay as a buddy), a whole bunch of contacts appeared in the Yahoo folder, mostly with '@hotmail.com' and most of them being my MSN contacts.

On opening a known MSN contact, I'm seeing his @hotmail address appearing as a Yahoo Detail

Is this a bug?

This may not technically be a bug. Yahoo and MSN recently added interoperability for each other, so you can use MSN to chat with Yahoo members and vice-versa. So in your case, it might just be that the Yahoo contact list was downloaded first and included all of your MSN contacts.

True, but my Yahoo list doesn't have any MSN contacts, though my MSN list does have contacts from everywhere. Regardless, I'm going to nose around my Yahoo list and see what comes up.

Still, I can't seem to be able to add MSN (Haze) in Add Detail when I am editing the Contact card, and that is preventing me from setting up my MSN contacts correctly. If I set them up as Yahoo contacts, there is a chance that my buddies will think that I am on Yahoo and start sending IMs to my Yahoo account, which would be a bad thing since MSN is my primary IM tool.

It appears that an update to RTCOMM was released today.

And after installing it, I'm getting a reboot loop. :/

Same here :(

Found this post

Basically disabling Watchdog, you should be able to remotely login and apt purge rtcom stuff, w/o having to reinstall everything from scratch.

I'm still trying to figure out what's wrong.

I've also opened a bug: https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2803

Re: OS2008 Instant Messaging Upgrades

i just figured out why i had trouble logging on to msn. one has to provide a nick name. if one dont, it will just eternally attempt to log on, but not manage to actually log on (the status indicator in the "tray" will flash between available and offline continually).

and up to that point, rtcomm had no trouble running here. but around that time, i started seeing "failed and have been shut down" errors when trying to open a new chat or open a chat window when someone contacted me.

and dumb as i was, i rebooted the device, resulting in a reboot loop...
