Multiple taps don't help; duration doesn't matter either, though duration is linked to pressure (through thumb physics). "Pressure" as measured by the tablet is influenced both by force applied and by area. True pressure would be force / area, but this is something closer to force * area^0.5 in my estimation; it's really related to the volume squeezed in a layer of the touch-screen, I think.
