I am watching the poll with great interest, thanks for setting the poll up.

One simple comment, most users nowadays own more than one tablet, but you only allow to vote once, should you open up one more channel or should you allow people to vote more than once? BTW, I like polls simple and easy to read like this one, so please do not make it too complicate. Speak for myself, I have 770, which never ever have this power on problem and also, my N800, which power on is like flipping a coin....

I hate to re-iterate for those reading this thread and DO NOT have the power on problem, this is NOT just a nuisance, when you walking on the street and cannot find a plug and you know damn well there is battery juice but the thing just wont turn on....you got the picture.

i have the poweron problem on my n800. I was going to return it, but as i solved (temporarily) the problem with the "get it cold" solution, i was enjoying myself too much to return it just yet.. i guess i'll decide later, while the warranty is still up. Just need to remember not to shutdown ;)

but i guess this poll is going to show what we've been seeing all along, there are a lot of nokias out there with this problem.

I voted for the n800, but my 770 had the poweron problem also.

....And got a "Working Refurbished" one in exchange in ~30+days.....

Also the normal reason I shutdown my N800 is to fix the problem with using wireless after running Kismet or when my batt brains due to mp3 playback or long connections via SSHD when testing driver modules....

I've tried to edit the poll but seems to be no way to do that at this stage. My fault, forgot the multiple IT's owners. Sorry.

When you have the problem on road try taking the battery out for few minutes. Reinstall the battery and try turning it ON. Seems to have worked for me.

Holding down the power button while the battery is removed please deplete any power remaining....

I googled for linux batch programming and failed to get anything straight forward, there are 19 users having this problems, 1 of this 19 got to know some programming..... somebody? a simple batch for the 3 lines command and place an icon on the home page. Bun: My only experience about programming was with my uncle's VCR in the 80's and was so bad that instead of recording outdoor shows he actually got XXX films recorded.
Seriously, I think each one have founded a non perfect solution for the power on problem. Mine (and never failed btw) is ten, twelve, fifteen short pushes on power button and then the magic blue led comes :)

Critical option missing from poll (sigh): "Occasionally, and removing battery briefly and reinstalling solves it every time"

And if the battery is not the culprit (refer to thread indicating that it might be), then you need to return your device.

IMHO isn't a missing option. If you have the problem, no matter how you can solve it your way, you have the problem. You can solve it removing battery, several pressings of power button, connecting to ac, pointing the power button to the south, etc etc...but still is not a normal, expected behaviour. And only can take the problem as occasionally, let's say, if it happened once, but think isn't the case.
