Yes, I certainly wouldn't do it manually every time. Though my tendency would be to make a batch converter that scans the /home/user/MyDocs tree for unconverted .doc files and converts them all, rather than a GUI.

But glad the GUI is working for you.

I see it as a tool.
It is IMO still easier to just save (and manage) a doc file as a txt file, but as a tool, it will work fine for those times I receive a doc file on the road.
For instance, there is no find or other editor functions within.
