I am a bit of a noob so sorry for the dumb question, but how can I easily copy these covers into a folder C2 will see? I can access my N800 using SSH - so a simple copy command would be good. Would it by any chance be somehing like cp /media/mmc1/covers/*.* ~/.canola/covers (this does not work - so although the C2 covers directory is stated above to be ~/.canola/covers I don't understand enough about Linux file / directory / command conventions to understand where I am going wrong!) Re: Canola2 Beta2 Feedback Thread
Dbuur : the other threads points to the same problems, and you still face them : /
something must be wrong in the middle way : / We have been talking with some people with the same problems and at least the final thing : the install / unninstall completely throught apt solves it. A note : Installing and unninstalling using the application manager DOESN'T solve the problem, because the application manager gets lost with the error. But as you said, you have done a completely unninstall (with APT as root) and still have the same problem) we just have one last solution. If you have an IP, we can try connecting remotly to your 770 and installing for you. That's the last thing that we can do. BR Marcelo |
Re: Canola2 Beta2 Feedback Thread
@Commsman
It's not straight light that =) Please there's some threads about cover that peoples explain detailed the process. If you want to user your covers you need to make sure of some details : Folder is in : /home/user/.canola/covers Inside is by /artist/albumname But there's a couple of rules( no spaces, no special characteres, etc) And then.. you have 2 sizes of file: 300x300 and 150x150 (we use it to avoid rescaling hundreds of covers in the album screen) and the name is cover-1.jpg and so on. My advice would be : use Canola-tuning, it will create the folders for you download some covers that you may not want.. then you just move the good ones of you =) Br Marcelo |
Re: Canola2 Beta2 Feedback Thread
Something interesting just happened. First couple of times I started Canola, it only took a few seconds to re-read the media library. Now it takes 3 to 5 minutes. No idea why.

Re: Canola2 Beta2 Feedback Thread
Just got my N800 in and went ahead and flashed straight to the latest OS2008. Afterwards, before installing anything else tried installing Canola from the indt website and it failed. Since the device is new without anything else on it yet I went ahead and reinstalled OS2008, went straight to Canola again and it installed properly this time.
So far, now that it is working, its been great. Matt |
