Yeah what I suspected your DBUS communication with Atabake is failing severely, I will pass this to morpheuz, he may ask you a couple of more things.. but I think we will be able to find the source of problem. Something is wrong with Dbus usage / or Dbus itself on your device.. and of others...

I'm running beta3 on an N810 w/ the latest OS available from Nokia. Beta 2 worked OK, but beta3 doesn't ... First, it often sits at the "Checking media library ..." screen for a long time. Not always, though! Also, it now refuses to play videos or audio files. Once I drill down to and click on the filename in Canola, it just hangs. I saw on this thread that I should run from the terminal, so I did that: "canola -v" prints quite a bit of information, and I don't know how to log the terminal output. Here's the last line, though, when it's refusing to open a video/audio file:
File "/plugin_prefs.py", line 42, in _load EOFError There was a message on this forum from a few years ago that suggested using apt-get to remove canola, but I don't have access to root. Any suggestions? Beta3 does show photos OK. Thanks! |

Canola rocks! I have only had my tablet for a couple of days and this is by far my favorite app. The only feedback I have is that it seems strange to me to have my podcasts mixed in with my music when I select all songs.

Hi brian,
Not sure if it will works for you, but you probably have some old components in the playback level. So we need information to debug, and seems that most of users are not able to provide them (not their fault) because needs to manipulate in command line. If you can run with -vv (yes 2 v's) that you will have a better message (best if you run) open canola and then try playing on media. I think you can copy it and send using the email on the tablet (open gmail o browser or even this thread and copy here ) Select the test by dragging the stylus.. and hold down it to copy. You have that because your top level folder is "watching" the whole card. If you go to settings, media library, audio folder, touch the eye to remove the "V", touch the card name to enter the card folders, and check everything but the podcast folder helps on this. I have a small suggestion. How about copying internet-radio list into the Canola from media player or Shoutcast? I think it helds most of the internet stations and it will be easy to just select them instead of typing URLs.

I agree with above, Better internet radio options. Merge Artists along with merge albums Last.fm as previously stated. and maybe the ability to listen to my last.fm station Other than that. Bravo Bravo. |

Hi guys,
The internet suggestion we are planning and checking if has some legal issues or if we can add in the final version a "suggestion" wizard based on your profile (you choose 3 interests and it adds the best content from the web in that matters ) This integration from media player is also written down, time has prevented us, as we set this as lower priority (first get the basics righ) = ) we are almost there, and after 1.0 in end of march (the plan at least) we will still improve so keep suggestions coming! if fit's our visions... we will gladly implment =) Br Marcelo |
