Some important points for us:

1) Do you have mplayer installed on the device ?
2) If you have, could you please try touching the volume bar after some time and see if the volume comes back ?

Hi,

Every user that reported problems with scroll had an old version of python-efl_utils. Could you please run this command on the terminal:

$> dpkg -l | grep efl

and report the version of efl_utils ? It should be 0.1.2+cvs20071220-maemo1

Hi Bitgueist, yes.. after you done that the keyboard on the canola side you also have the paste option.

So hold on the finger on the link, copy link location.. .and when on canola press the menu button (side by side with enter) and choose paste.

Is that what you mean?

heya. i thought id start by thanking marcelo and all his team for the great work and effort put into canola. canola is an amazing piece of software and has always been my #1 music player...till a few days ago :(

since i updated to beta2 and beta3, i (canola) seems to have lost the ability to play music and pictures.
i tried uninstalling then reinstalling canola but no good. im using the lastest firmware on the n800. i did restart the n800 after the installs.
i can click on a song but it doesnt load... heres what i get when i open canola from the terminal

Amir : try using the fix, and installing again? seems that you ghave some problems with the media component... old efl_utils could be the problem.

So please install te canola2-fix from the application installer... reboot and install again! I hope this will solve all your issues, if not , we will not rest until solves that for you!

I love Canola. Alas, untill it supports last.fm scrobbling I can not justify switching back from kagu.

All,

I've been having some major problems with the podcast feature in Canola2 beta 3.

As a good open source user, I filed a bug report already. It can be seen here.

The problem comes down to this: not all podcast feeds work.

I can install them (that is, they show up in the list of available podcasts).

However, when I actually try to list the individual episodes in each podcast, they fail...

As an example, consider the following two podcasts feeds (hosted on my server):

The one that works is located at: http://www.dubfire.net/feeds/tal.xml
The one that fails is located at: http://www.dubfire.net/feeds/tal-no-reruns.xml

Both are installable, but when I try to view the episodes available in the second feed, the Canola wheel just spins forever. With the first feed, the wheels spins for a second or two, and then a list of available mp3s is shown.

Can someone please look into this for me?

Hi Genome,

We will look into this, but in a quick glance, it seems that the failing one has not an attributed that maybe needed to canola to work correctly, and that is really important to any podcast application : published DATE, why? because then the application knows what's newer... what's old.. and how to present the data more than just based on position int he feed.

this is my first look opinion, but we will investigate further.

But like in webbrowses.. you need to be patient, if the bug is on canola we will fix asap, but we cannot predict if in case the error is because the podcast producer is not following the standard, of course we will try to support even those with errors, but it will only be when users complain =) like you..

Then we do what we can to fix!

hi marcelo,
i tried what u recomended ( install and run the fix then reboot and the reinstall canola then reboot) but unfortunatly i still cant play music. canola finds the music but when i ask it to play, it just tries to load and stays like that...
any ideas? btw heres the log
