I think you can forget it, it doesn't even run on my computer..600Mhz with a simple graphic card.

Re: grand theft auto?

The free versions of GTA and GTA2 are modified from the originals so they will run on new computers and Windows versions. These and even the original DOS version of the first GTA was compiled to run on Intel x86 compatible processors, not on ARM which the Internet Tablets have. And as the source code of the games is not available, it would be extremely difficult (and most likely illegal) to reverse engineer them to run on the ITs.

However, it is possible to run the Game Boy Color versions of GTA and GTA2 using an emulator, for example Gambatte. But the GBC versions are not free.

If you own the original GTA1 (with "gtados" folder) you can try it out in
dosbox. Note: Only the old CD version works. The re-released "Classic" version
doesn't have the DOS executables.

It takes ages to load the menu, even longer for the actual game and once
it starts rendering in all its VGA glory, the framerate hits rock bottom ;)

I've come across an open source port, though: OpenGTA, Screenshots.
Maybe that could be ported?

Edit: It lists OpenGL and PhysicsFS (?) as requirements:
Quote:

* OpenGL
* SDL
* PhysicsFS
* Loki
* zlib

* GNU bash and a number of common Unix programs
* GNU C/C++ compiler
* GNU make
Maybe if software accelerated OpenGL were quick enough for GTA1,
it would make sense to port all those dependencies. Could someone
make an educated guess?

Re: grand theft auto?

Anyone able to try this on n900? I have it running through dosbox but it's slowww. I saw in another thread someone had managed to get GTA2 to work.

Just wondering if anyone has managed to get it to run smoothly
