Re: Is this the WiMAX Internet Tablet?
citing Wikipedia, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kerning, the spacing between the numbers of the 8, the digit in question, and the trailing 0 does not match with the other phones that have a 1 in them. it more matches the spacing on the 6300 phones text label. check it out.

Re: Is this the WiMAX Internet Tablet?
That's what I was thinking, but I'm still hoping for a product refresh :p
(i didn't grab the 810, not worth it imo @ price level. an 830 with wimax might be... :) ) |
Re: Is this the WiMAX Internet Tablet?
I have a good question that shouldn't reveal too much.
Texrat - Would you purchase an N810 at this point, for $399 if you had no interest in a WiMax version (not an option down here in Louisiana)? I wouldn't want to suffer another painful price drop, as happened with my iPhone. I'm still very happy with the device, but I'm weary of these sneaky corporations now! |

Re: Is this the WiMAX Internet Tablet?
whilst I'd love an n810+w, I doubt that the same frequencies will be used in UK as USA and Canada (hmm, it'd be great if it were a swappable module - the zaurus's CF slot is probably what saved it from extinction), so I suspect that people who rush to buy/import it will be disappointed!
however, if the 810+w pushes down the price of the 810, just as the 810 killed prices for the 800, I will be happy to upgrade to a cheap 810, though I'd be sad to lose the dual SD slots! |

If you hold your face real close and slowly pull back you will see a 3-d picture of Texrat laughing his @ss off at us!!

And as for the "buy now or wait" question... Come on, technology always gets cheaper. You have to look at it this way: you are buying more than just a device, you are buying time on a device. I'm so glad I bought my N800 when I did, instead of waiting for it to come down another $50 a couple of months later. I got two very happy months for that extra $50. On that note, maybe buy an N800 for $225. Then you won't feel the same level of buyer's remorse when the Nxx0W comes out. |
