Re: Nokia N800 discontinued?
Back on topic: sooner or later the N800 will be discontinued. It's inevitable. All I was saying in my counterpoints is that many of the reasons given to "prove" that it's happening now are not necessarily absolute.

Re: Nokia N800 discontinued?
I just ordered a Nokia N800 from Nokia's US website the other day, so I don't think it is ready to be discontinued just yet.
P.S. I realize I spent an arm and a leg more than I would have spent elsewhere, but I would rather pay for the security. I almost ordered one at Buy.com for $70 cheaper, but they couldn't give me a tracking number or tell me who the vendor was or who was shipping it or anything. |

Re: Nokia N800 discontinued?
I have mine just getting delivered today, so you'll hopefully forgive me if I sound noob'ish.
But what does it matter if the N800 is getting discontinued or not? We already have ours, and the N800 and N810 are so close to being the same beast that we'll benefit from any further development. |

Re: Nokia N800 discontinued?
Actually, the rotating camera borders on pointless since Gizmo's not working for me any more (not consistently, and video calls to desktop Gizmo crashes the latter). However, like you, I like the N800 for the dual SDHC slots, but I'm not sure about the larger USB socket (isn't it the same size as the one on the N810?)
I realised that the price difference of USD200 could get me a BT keyboard, but that's not stopping me from getting an N810 soon :) |

Re: Nokia N800 discontinued?
I read in a review that the N800 has a "mini" USB socket, while the N810 has a "micro." Admittedly it's not a major difference, but I figure that I may be using that socket a lot. So an extra millimeter of thickness, making it more durable or easier to use, would be helpful. Sometimes in a poorly lit place, it can be tough to figure out which is the skinny side of those little trapezoid-shaped plugs.
