Just looked in My Computer, its not there. I appreciate your help. I want to keep the 770 but if it is this hard to load programs I may have to get a VGA screen PDA with Wi Fi instead.

Ok give me a few hours. I still don't understand why don't just use the wifi connection and download that way. Didn't you say wifi was working?

I am a novice at the whole wi fi thing (as you can tell). How do I load a program through wifi?

Must have been nice to be a novice with wifi. I was never given that chance.

The easiest way...
Make your wifi connection through conneciton manager or the web browser. Go to the applications page (yes I know it's a pain to type, but you can bookmark it after the first time, you can also use the tab navagtor at the top of the page, maemo.org is easyer to type then the whole address.) using the Nokia 770. Find the program you want. Click on it's name. It'll take you down the page to the download links. Download and save it to the RS-MMC card, or the internal flash drive.

Menu button (over lapping windows on the home screen), control panel, Application Installer. Point it to the ap you dl'd with the browse button. Install. Smile. Be happy.

For the record. To connect the Nokia 770 to windows. It has to be on in regular (non-usb) mode. It lets me see the rs-mmc card as a removeable hard drive. I can access it it no problem. Doen't matter if the case is on it (in standby) or if it's in use.

I just got a used 770 off of Ebay. The first thing I did was update the OS to the latest version. My problem is with trying to make a Wi Fi connection.

When I scan for networks the 770 sees my router but after selecting it as my preferred connection and starting up the browser I get an error message "Network Probelm" followed by the url I typed in. Also I am only getting one bar signal strength no matter how close I am to the router.

I have a similar problem. I can connect at my WEP protected home and work computer. However, when I pick up unprotected networks ANYWHERE else but those two locations, the 770 says I am connected but when I try to connect to a Website, I always get the dreaded "network problem" error. I know it's a common problem from reading the posts here, but, I still have not seen a good solution to this problem. Anyone figured out how to fix it?
Once again, with my own routers, I can connect ok. When I'm on the road and pick up unprotected networks, I cannot get online. HELP?!
