i've added Nokia n80 to the list, is symbian 3rd but for me work with AT driver, the insertion of recipient should insert manually, no notificationo of incoming

That's odd. My W810 hangs when I use phone link on it. I think I will reflash the W810.

Hi, thanks for the updates.

Notification didn't work for me on the nokia 6021 nor 6310i.

The 'identify phone' in the set-up panel worked for both though.

Hi,

With my p990i this app is not working!it connects to the phone and then disconects!

Saturn mentioned in an earlier post something about: 'identify phone' in the set-up panel ! i don't have a setup panel in my phonelink app!
I'm waiting for a solution!thanks!

It's not inside Phonelink, it's in the tablet's Configuration Panel. Took me a while to find it too :-)

yep i've found it :D and it's working sort of...
my rfcomm is 7
and i've selected phone model AT

it works, it's making calls and sends sms, but sound is only on P990i...please make the sound to come to n8x0 like a handsfree (btw i've selected in my phone the n800 as a bt hsfree and also i have no sound..)

phonelink (or gnokii) can't do this. I hope it will be part of the next bluetooth stack (bluez) ... looks like the bluez team are working a lot on audio ...

Did you install contactinfos : it is a DBus Service that provide access to GPE or Built-in Contact Data (via a Control Panel Applet)

and the icon is added on my menu

but when i click on it doesn't want to open? why?

could you try to open it from xterm ?
just type phonelink in xterm and report the error (if any ;) )

Hi,

Ive got a Sony Ericsson W810i, and an N800, and ive got phonelink on my n800 and i can send sms, but only by typing in the number. I can not view my contacts or get the n800 to notify me of texts or phone calls.

Does anyone have or know of a Step by Step guide on how to install and where to go to install the programs etc to make all the features work with my phone??

contactinfos is available in the same repository as phonelink : it will allow you to fetch contact's numbers from gpe or built-in contact. there is no way (yet) in phonelink to access the phone address book

if one have a nice phone, just tell it to export the whole of it as a syncml file and stuff that into gpe or built-in. only watch out, built in seems to not like names with extended ascii (or is it unicode?). i have filed a bug on it but its still open...

oh, and gpe contacts annoy me to no end as there is no option to sort on first names.

hell, all my contacts are on first name only, with the odd middle/double name. those are treated as full names and sorted on the second part, grumble...

still, i only use gpe contacts so that i can enter a name and get a number in return ;)

Thanks For the reply, but how do i tell phonelink where my contacts are? i can get my contacts from my phone o my n800 but i dont know how to link them into phonelink??

install contactinfos, then go to control panel and look all the way at the bottom.

Well I have no idea ...
What I would propose is this :
- uninstall libgnokii, phonelink, gnokii-gconf
- check that everything is really unisntalled (/usr/bin/phonelink, /usr/lib/libgnokii ...)
- reinstall from the extras repository (only installing phonelink should install everything ...)
- try again

I think I discovered the reason : you can install 1.2.3 from extras repository (and the latest libgnokii)

i installed:

First) libgnokii3_0[1].6.24-os2008_armel.deb

Second) gnokii-gconf_0[1].6.1-os2008_armel.deb

And Then:

Third) phonelink_1[1].2.3-os2008_armel.deb

i can see only gnokii-gconf on my control panel


but when i want to click on phonelink icon in my extras menu it didn't worked! and i can't see nothing :(

I released PhoneLink 1.2.4 and it uses gnokii as should be to allow call and SMS notifications. I'd be REALLY interested to know wich driver work (if any) and which don't ...

without any change on my n800 os2008,

i can only see gnokii-gconf in my control panel and icon of phonelink in my menu and without any work after click on!


and the message on my x-terminal is still:

couldn't open a config file or memory.
segmentation fault

The BT MAC is specific to your particular phone, not to the model. Find it by trying to pair through the Control Panel.

sorry, not working with the Motorola maxx Ve, a CDMA phone on Verizons network here in the states. But then I should have known that, verizon messes with the software in the phone...oh well...:rolleyes:
I have tried all the rfcomm ports that are available to my phone in Gnokii control panel and i'm also using the AT as my phone model.
I do think the main problem is that I'm using a CDMA type phone vs. a GSM. However, I can connect via bluetooth DUN for net access.

Anyone try this with a CDMA type phone yet?
Any successes? :confused:

Hi Fred,

Just want to report some progress. With v.1.2.5 and latest gnokii, phonelink connects to my phone (nokia 6021) when asking for notificatins. Nevertheless at least when phone rings it doesn't do anything.

I'm really sorry that I cannot test more but I'm far away from home for at least one more week.
