Problems with N800/OS2008

I'm suddenly having some problems with my tablet - don't know if they're all interrelated or not.

I installed mogg for ogg vorbis support and it downloaded but at the end of the install I got an error saying that install did not succeed. Now it shows as installed but doesn't work and it won't uninstall. I tried to uninstall from the command line and I get an error that a png file doesn't exist. I created a file with that name/extension but the uninstall still fails.

When I look at my memory usage it seems strange to me. Device memory says that their is only 4 MB available but details say that I have 251.5 MB total of which 16 MB is Documents and 49.4 MB are installed apps. Where is the rest of my memory? Are their log files that I should be deleting as normal maintenance?

And now Canola has started behaving strangely. Sometimes it hangs at start, other times it launches and works for a while then hangs. When I close it several processes are left running which show as maemo-launch which are eating the CPU.

I recently reflashed to 2.2007.51-3 to try and resolve the memory issues.

Any suggestions? I was a Unix Systems Admin before there was Linux and an embedded systems guy for many years but I've been a sales guy and manager for many years so please go gentle if I'm missing something obvious :-)

did you try wipeing it out and reflashing entirely from scratch.. did that fix your space issue?

I reflashed and reloaded the tablet. Not sure if there was something I should/could have done to wipe the tablet first? I assumed that a reflash (pre Diablo :-) ) was going to clean the tablet internals.

OK. I'm too impatient to wait on more suggestions so I reflashed my tablet again and skipped the restore step on the first boot. So now with just the OS installed my tablet reports that I have 137.3 MB of 251.5 MB in use. Does that sound correct?
