Hi Bman : you are facing a problem like some others : corrupted installation. For some reason, the application manage allowed a wrong / corrupted package to be installed, causing the problem.

So please follow the basic instructions :

a. install Canola-Cleanup
b. Run canola-Cleanup (this is a cleanup that only could be done with command line so we did this small app)

c. Reboot (just to make sure the "deamons" are "shut down" *deamons are the apps that canola let running to make sure your media is always available.

d. Make sure to disable all repositories but (the default ones and maemo and maemo extras)

c. install canola.

d. install the youtube and last.fm plugin

e. enjoy :))

Another bug:

When unlocking IT (N800, OS2007) with | {square} and Canola being on "Now playing" screen sequence is catched by Canola and treated as play/pause.
