Bluetooth camera from Kodak
 

Hiya fellow tablet-users,

I ran into the following site while browsing the web:

This seems to be the first Bluetooth-equipped camera on the market. You should obviously be able to send images from the camera to any Bluetooth-gadget - palmtops, phones...and tablets! Imagine, for example, being on the road, taking pics with a decent camera (not those crummy cellphone cameras), and transferring them to your website through the tablet. Instant digital postcards to your friends. And so on.

This has been the subject for quite a few threads on this site (see, for example http://www.internettablettalk.com/fo...ead.php?t=322). Looks like the wait is over! I would personally be quite happy with this combo, I'm not too fond of lots of tools integrated into one.

there were others: Sony had one ( DSC-FX77 or so), however, with typical Sony-style limited compatibility; and there was a cheapo Concord Eye-Q as well.
The trouble with bluetooth is that in the end, it's like a cable: the fact that you can wire things together (or "wireless things together") does not yet mean that they understand each other.

See if any of the local stores has this Kodak cam - would be nice to see if it really work with the 770 and/or my Nokia phone.

UPDATE: Seems the Koadak V610 is not supported by gphoto (see http://www.gphoto.org/proj/libgphoto2/support.php). :(

Well, I got the impression that this camera is spanking new, so drivers (and other support) might be on its way (or you might find compatible drivers).

Update: Well, yeah, it will be released May 8th.

zupidupi, i'll accept this as an excuse for not having the camera in the gphoto compatibility list. ;) i wasnt aware of the fact that its so new.

WiFi camera from Nikon
 

As an alternative to bluetooth, Nikon brought two WiFi-enabled cameras (IEEE802.11b/g) on the market:
Nikon Coolpix P2 (5 Megapixles) and P3 (8 Megapixles). There should be no problem with compatibility or download to N770. P2 is available at amazon.com for 199$.

I almost bought one of those at Hartlauer a few weeks ago. But: I read some disappointing reviews about the usability of Nikon's WLAN-implementation. Then there's the 770 with its buggy WLAN. And bluetooth would allow me to transmit to a mobile phone as well. (Probably not directly to the 770.)
