Still like using To Do. But got another bug.

When I edited the name of a category (there's a menu entry for doing that, and, apart from this bug, it works well), it deleted all the item entries that were under the other categories! Well, not exactly; what it did was not that bad; it took all the items from all the categories and put them into the renamed category and emptied all the other categories of all items.

I try to keep to bugs and not features I would like, but it sure would be nice if there were a way to delete individual entries other than through a mass-purge of all the completed items or just blanking them out.

I think I got bitten by this bug over the weekend too. In my case I believe I lost all the items in the category I was trying to rename. I don't think the other categories were affected. Ouch, that was painful.

Sorry to hear that. :( At least give a look and double-check they didn't just get put into other categories.

New to_do build available.

I just released a build of to_do that corrects the category rename bug GeraldKo reported and I just confirmed. This bug could cause data loss of to_do items. All to_do users are encouraged to upgrade to the new version.

A note on category renaming: a feature of Gene's intent for the renaming is that specifying an existing category for the rename moves all the to_do items from the old category into the new (existing) category.

Thanks. I think of it as a reminder that frequent backups are a good thing since there are so many ways that data loss can occur with a computer. In this case I had just created the category that day and added about 12 items. So even under a daily backup policy they wouldn't have been backed up. But at least they were still mostly fresh in my mind.

Not sure what you're asking... if the app manager lets you install it, it should work. If it doesn't seem to work, please report it on this thread as a bug.

installed after pyculator (find it useful a little) - it works

but it doesn't notify if Calend application not running

I believed it uses daemon then frontend not needed to notify...

It should be able to alarm even when it isn't running. If you're seeing that it's not alarming, could you provide a little more info of what you tried and what didn't work? For example... created a non-repeating event at such and such time, checked alarm for 5 minutes early, hit apply, closed app, didn't see it. Another useful thing to know is if that behavior is repeatable for you or if sometimes it alarms and sometimes not. Your NIT OS version may be helpful too... can be found in Settings->Control Panel->About product, in the Version field.

then I created non-repeating event for 11:08PM, hit apply, waited but nothing happiness

I didn't try repeat again but will
