Barney:
I've got both running on my 770. Currently you won't be able to VPN in so maybethe Citrix client might be for you. If you're using it inhouse then RD is really fast and automatically scales the screen resolution down. Otherwise the accessibility onscreen KB is the way to go. You're going to like this little device. ;) |
It works! Awesome!~

It's easy to use an encrypted connection by tunneling the port 3389 over ssh. This is safe enough and easy to setup without root permissions on the 770.
-you only need to install ssh client, -make a connection (before using RD) with the -L command and -run RD to the localhost. It's not a real vpn but it's easy to setup, runs through most firewalls and you only need a ssh server which is accessable from the internet. Mark |
Need help with SSH and RDesktop
Can someone tell me the exact execution command to tunnel from the N770 over the internet to my WinXP pro machine so I can start RDesktop? WinXP machine running COPSSH server N770 using dropbear client I initiate a session with the server with the following command: /var/lib/install/usr/bin/dbclient -l user@hostserver I got the user@server ~ and was able the view the files on the server I tried ssh -w port:port user@hostserver but it didn't work I tried ssh -N -f -Lport:hostserver:port user@hostserver and it also didn't work What are the exact command I need to execute to tunnel from remote port 3389 to hostsever port 3389? Do I have to switch from the user@hostserver prompt to the N770 to execute the command? Do I have to initialize RDesktop from Xterm prompt? I have no experience with Linux at all. Thanks for the help in advance!!! |

Rdesktop with SSH working
Nevermind, I got it working today using /var/lib/install/usr/bin/dbclient user@host -L 3389:sever:3389 Rdesktop to localhost |
I just now got VNC to work with my Mac PowerBook. It was touchy. The key appears to be screen rez. I could not get it working with a cinema display.
