Re: Pentesting with IT 2008 OS

Hi,

Maybe I don't understand something but when I try installing the deb (dsniff and aircrack-ng) from the first post, here is the output :

dpkg -i aircrack-ng_0.5-1_arm.deb
dpkg: error processing aircrack-ng_0.5-1_arm.deb (--install):
package architecture (arm) does not match system (armel)
Errors were encountered while processing:
aircrack-ng_0.5-1_arm.deb

Am I doing something wrong?

Re: Pentesting with IT 2008 OS

try installing it through the application manager
or try the newer version

Re: Pentesting with IT 2008 OS

This thread rocks!!!! Very interesting stuff that I will have to try out.
My question for everyone is: Does anyone know if any of these programs displays the signal strength of the surrounding access point and or stations?

BlackOp333 2008-06-19 14:57

Re: Pentesting with IT 2008 OS

kismet has that ability
see if it works w/ yours

BlackOp333 2008-06-20 04:05

Re: Pentesting with IT 2008 OS

That feature of kismet may not work w/ the Nokia
When I tried that feature on mine it said that the wireless card wasn't giving signal strengths or something like that

biggatings 2008-06-20 12:48

Re: Pentesting with IT 2008 OS

I get the same issue. no signal strength is being reported (all -1's) any suggestions? maybe a recompiling of the driver?

BlackOp333 2008-06-20 13:02

Re: Pentesting with IT 2008 OS

if recompilation were that easy, we might have packet injection by now!
there may be nothing you can do.
Which .deb did you use?

BlackOp333 2008-06-20 13:11

Re: Pentesting with IT 2008 OS

you could install something like homewifilevel, although it only shows your current connections strengtth.
It is pretty precise though

Re: Pentesting with IT 2008 OS

Ok her's another one :)
Could Aimject (http://jon.oberheide.org/projects/aimject/) be ported?

Compiled. It does require a few dependencies. All those can be found by searching on gronmayer but you won't find libdnet there. So I compiled that too.

Run as root.

BlackOp333 2008-06-23 17:26

Re: Pentesting with IT 2008 OS

i get this error when trying to install lib-glade
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
libglademm-2.4: Depends: libglade2-0 (>= 1:2.6.1) but 1:2.4.0-1osso2 is to be installed
E: Broken packages

Re: Pentesting with IT 2008 OS

I'm not sure, I could upgrade to the one in extras fine. I have no choice except to use that version as this program depends on that version.

BlackOp333 2008-06-23 17:43

Re: Pentesting with IT 2008 OS

just fixed it
thanx

Re: Pentesting with IT 2008 OS

Ok since we're on this genre, could this be ported as well:

here's another addition

Wireshare replaced Ethereal for those that are wondering, for others Ethereal is a packet sniffer that is very configurable. tcpdump is also in this, its about 16MB. 60MB uncompressed.

I have not figured out the problem with KDE, the gui kept crashing on me, but works good in openbox.

I didnt make any icons, post one if you make one ;) Run sudo wireshark for gui or tshark from command line.

Re: Pentesting with IT 2008 OS

wasnt there a thread here somewhere accusing all you elite haxors of not sharing the exact commands that newbies can use to unlock wifi of unsuspecting neighbors?

BlackOp333 2008-06-24 00:02

Re: Pentesting with IT 2008 OS

OK problem w/ wireshark
The uncompressed folder is over 50 MB
It will not run off a memory card
The largest file (over 30 MB) is a lib file
Is there a way to put part of this folder on a memcard?
Or compress?
Or would a symlink work?
If so, how do I make one?
Thanx

BlackOp333 2008-06-27 13:39

Re: Pentesting with IT 2008 OS

Does anyone know how to make a symlink or think one would work here?

Re: Pentesting with IT 2008 OS

why dont you try cloning your os to sd...use pbs deb...then you have plenty of room...

BlackOp333 2008-06-27 13:58

Re: Pentesting with IT 2008 OS

interesting idea
does everything sttill run as fast like that?
could i stiill allocate virtual memory on the internal SD?
Could you expound somewhat on how to do this?
thanx

ive been using it....both on chinook and now on the diablo...works well ...speed wise is good...wont need virtual memory.....i have an 8 gig sdhc card...heres a screenie t to give you an idea as to what space you have to play with

BlackOp333 2008-06-27 14:13

Re: Pentesting with IT 2008 OS

How do I go about doiing this?
Shoulld I use the internal or exterrnal card?
What's the point of the virtual memory if I don't need it?
Thanx

Re: Pentesting with IT 2008 OS

what type of unit do you have...n800 or 810...penguinbait has debs for both...there real easy...just follow directions...as for virtual memory...it just gives the tablet that extra bitr off breathing room when you run alot off different apps...right now i can run meamo mapper, skype, pigdin, check email and listen to the fm radio...without skipping too much..

Diablo broken anything or has anyone had any trouble getting and of their Pen Testing Appz or essentials working? Just curious great thread BTW.

BlackOp333 2008-07-11 15:42

Re: Pentesting with IT 2008 OS

I have gotten all of them to work with the exception of amap (which didn't install in chinook anyway) and aimject.

ravenmsb 2008-07-12 00:16

Re: Pentesting with IT 2008 OS

Thanks I went ahead and updated I also recived an error with my amap package I had it said it failed to install but it is in my installed list I haven't had time to check everything but the only trouble I seem other to have with diablo other than amap is with python applications.

Well atleast we won't have to flash anymore .... (Yeah Right Like I won't mess up my install sooner or later messing with it):D

Re: Pentesting with IT 2008 OS

Seriously great thread guys thanks, such a load of great apps. Anyway, I need your help. I've updated to diablo and everything works fine except kismet (i'm using Nokismet from this forum). When I try to run it I get the error
'error opening terminal xterm'. Only thing I can think of is I was unable to install mulliner's original TCPdump and had to get it elsewhere and since kismet relies on this maybe I screwed it up somehow. I'd really appreciate any help as kismet was really useful! Thanks

I have never gotten nokismet to work either. I use the older one (see attached)
nokismet may be only for the N810 (I use an N800)

Thanks BlackOp333, that's great. It works much better for me than the other one did.

Re: Pentesting with IT 2008 OS

Is there any chance to have http://ha.ckers.org/fierce/ made to work I put my hands up to not knowing enough to get this working myself but find the tool a great help in pen tests.

An one other request/question does any one know of any HTTP/plain text protocol fuzzer that works on the n800 as I so far have not found one.

Thanks

I have not had a problem with that aircrack installing, even after updating to diablo.
Try re-downloading and installing it again
Also, make sure you have wireless-tools installed
search for it on http://www.gronmayer.com/it

i installed dsniff, aircrack and mtr for "testing the security of my home network" but were do they install to? and how can i add them to task navigator?

BlackOp333 2008-07-27 21:04

Re: Pentesting with IT 2008 OS

what do you mean by mtr?
and most of the tools on this thread run through the command line (xterm)
make sure to become root before trying to use them

parker81 2008-07-27 21:10

Re: Pentesting with IT 2008 OS

ahh.. ok..

mtr = my trace route
