No wireless - Install from deb
 

Hi, I don't have wireless at home so I'd like to find the html repositories site where I can just pick and download which debs I want and move them to my N800 (with 2007 OS) over bluetooth and install from there. Spent most of a day searching maemo.org to no avail. Just one-click-here installs and no actual debs.

You can find a lot of them in here:

http://repository.maemo.org/extras/pool/bora/free/

Though you'd need to make sure you were aware of all of the dependencies too, so you get any other debs that are required for the install.

Hey I got kind of the same problem today I need to install php5 and nginx so I can test something today on my tablet but I'm at work with no wireless connection. Anyone got the debs for these I cna only find the .install files.

1. Save the .install file on a computer with internet access.
2. Open the .install file with a text editor.
3. In the text editor:
   1. Find the "components" line.
   2. Make mental note of what appears on the "components" line after the equals sign.
   3. Find the "uri" line.
4. Open the URL from the "uri" line in a web browser.
5. In the web browser:
   1. Follow the "pool" link.
   2. Keep drilling down via the available links.
      • Often, there will be a group of subdirectories named for the different Internet Tablet OS versions, for example, "chinook" and "bora". Look in the subdirectory named for the version of Internet Tablet OS your tablet runs.
      • Also look for the items that appeared in the "components" line of the .install file.
      • Eventually, you should find a directory with a collection of subdirectories named for letters of the alphabet (and "lib" + letters of the alphabet). Packages are sorted alphabetically into these subdirectories.
   3. Once you locate the .deb file for what you want to install, download the one with the highest version number and "_armel" in the file name.

You'll need to identify and gather dependencies manually.
