Perhaps, but that's because they're expecting this to be a PDA, and it isn't one.

This is meant to be a device for accessing the internet while on the move, something that wasn't really possible ten years ago, and wasn't possible to do cheaply until a couple of years ago. It's uncharted territory.

true but it still doesnt matter .... if you can make phone calls from this device it needs to have acceptable PIM features

Exactly. A device that is to be that conected should have decent PIM capability. All the options for this device to stay connected with people why wouldn't physical address be one of the options?

All that said, linking physical address directly into maps would be a great option. I was just thinking about this capability a few days ago using my N95-4. I'd love an option to pass an address from my contacts directly to Nokia Maps for directions.

Absolutely.

Most infuriating is that you actually can put a physical address in your contacts!! But you can't access it or display it!!

Try this: sync your evolution contacts with syncevolution, all your contacts appear on the tablet, but only the phone numbers and emails are accessible.

I suppose the address fields (a VCARD 3.0 field) are living inside osso-contacts, because they don't get deleted on the syncML server on subsequent syncs.
