Re: Senior Member ?!?
To me Junior or Senior simply state for how long you've been posting on this forum.
Nothing more... for example Texrat, GA, Benson, Bundyo, Quim and many more they have written a lot, but still they know very little :D :D :D (should I also have to say that I am kidding?) :) |
Re: Senior Member ?!?
If someone can't establish their credentials by communicating clearly and appropriately, their label means little.
Peer review would encourage what I might call "pack rule," in which some group (say, communists) bands together and wholeheartedly approves any member of the pack. I don't think that users have in general been mislead by know-nothing comments. In other places, I have seen instances of people with great credentials using them to imply that their opinions were gilt-edged even when they were talking about things not related to their credentials. |

Re: Senior Member ?!?
1. Why not let those who want to put a label on themselves do so through a sig.
2. If there's any organization who wants to have some sort of official label (maemo?) in the forum, let them discuss it with Reggie. 3. For those who need a 'label' to judge who they're talking to... well then, I think you need more help than an online forum label can provide. |

"He's just mad because nobody appreciates his sarcasm-"enhanced" hello-there-mr-bright-sunshine posts."
Actually, (a) I like Texrat's sardonic Thankses very much, but they can't be used as votes that so-and-so is credible, (b) "nobody appreciates" is of course literally false, or I would have 0 thanks. |
Re: Senior Member ?!?
"Sardonic Thanks"?
Damn, and I thought they were genuine. |
