You have to delete /home/user/.mPIM directory.

But I have never had that error.

try running mcalendar from a command prompt (terminal)

~ $ mcalendar

and see what output it gives.

Re: mCalendar

hmm, so I deleted the database, and it still got stuck at 60%, but running it from command line shoes its not actually stuck now. Its getting all of the events for calendars im subscribed too (but starting in december, 2009 onwards)

is this a new thing? that it downloads calendar's you're subscribed too?

edit: I just got rid of one of the calendars and it is workings fine now (and not downloading any of the other calendars either..)

btw, it was a 'remember the milk' calendar, which I never used, but just tried out for a while. So it's not a big deal that I had to remove it, but apparently it doenst play well with the syncing

Re: mCalendar

jwsnerd, what version of python2.5 do you have installed (you may need to be in red pill mode to find out). The function thats in the error is a normal one that should be included when importing the "gtk" library. The library must have imported, because the logic of the app checks that first and exits with an error if it fails. So for some reason, your tablet doesn't have access to that function.

pomonkey, that issue will be resolved when Khertan enables selecting which calendars to sync with, which I think he has said he is working on. Untill then, you just have to sync all of the calendars. You could create a secondary account, and share just the calendars you want to sync with that account, and then just sync that account instead of your main account with all of the other events.

Ack!
I just synced mCalendar with my GCal...Same Old 404 errors as before with no problems....

BUT now the HomeScreen App is either stuck on "refreshing" or is just a small gray/black oval.

mCalendar 0.4.6

homecalendar 0.2.6-1 (uninstalled and reinstalled - no change)

Re: mCalendar

I've seen that problem!! (and meant to post something here about it)

I had, earlier, mentioned a problem with mCalendar where events with an ampersand (&) would not show up in the calendar. Khertan fixed that problem. I re-edited my event to replace 'and' with '&', and everything was fine... until the day before the event, when my homecalendar display looked like your screen captures, above -- I think the homecalendar app also needs to be modified to allow certain special characters in the event name/description. Once I changed my '&' back to 'and' in the event I had, it instantly started showing up as expected in homecalendar.

So, there's your troubleshooting hint, and a bug report/reminder for Khertan, all in one short post. :)

@briand

Cool, Thanks! :) I had missed the "&" discussion as I had not used one in my GCal until recently... :o

Now for the next question:

Khertan, any word on why items in the homecalendar are out of order?

All day events 00:00 last , Repeating events First (Company store AM & PM)

TIA Snoshrk

Re: mCalendar

Is there a guide somewhere about how to sync the calendar with google? I've been trying to get my google calendar data to mCalendar, but it stays empty. I've entered my username & pass and synced. It says that it is synchronising, but nothing changes. Do I need to somehow select which calendars to sync, or what?

I guess there isn't an easier way to import ical files?

You shouldn't need to do anything. If the progress bar goes through 10%, 20% etc. all the way through finish, then your events ought to show up. Right now, mcalendar is set up to download all the events that you have created or edited since Jan 1, 2008, from all of the calendars that you have setup for your account (including calendars shared with you). If your events were made prior to Jan 1, you can change the "Last Sync" Date in the settings to make it scan further back.

Thanks for the info. How do you orientate person-launch bar horizontally?

Re: mCalendar

either drag it into shape by tap&hold on the lower right corner, or turn of resizeable layout and select rows in the drop down box.

Re: mCalendar

Hi, there!
I've got a strange MCalendar GCal-sync problem that appeared after Daylight Savings Time: in MCalendar events that are non-repeating show up as an hour later than they should, and repeating events show up at the correct time. (GCal events all remain at the right time in Gcal.) Time zone is set the same way for both GCal and Maemo. If I untick "Daylight Savings Time Zone" in Maemo Date / Time setup, then my non-repeating events are at the correct time, and repeating events are an hour early. Strange behavior! Any ideas how I can fix this?
Best,
Jon

Hello,

Of course i'm taking care of it, and will be solved with the next version 0.5. Which is a complete rewrite, with better google sync management.

Here is a test for a new UI of mCalendar, what do you think of it ? personnaly i don't find it really great.

Do you prefer the toolbar on the right or in bottom ? Color of this toolbar really need to be change.

(ps : week view is still in list, and new view will be done in few time).

In fact me too ...

But i think that if i do thing in the right way it could be a prefs.

Re: mCalendar

On the side, definitely. Here's my reasoning. Why shrink the shorter side (height), causing fewer appointments visible, and causing a scrollbar on the side anyway? Most maemo apps (including MicroB) for some reason settle for a 1.5"x2" working area.

Nice monthly calendar view.

One other thought... Can you simplify appointment entries? For example, most of the time I enter all day, one-liner events. I don't need to see start/end time or detailed notes for things like "Bob & Lola's Anniversary" or "Johan on vacation". These things could possibly be hidden in a tab.

Re: mCalendar

It will be good to give the choice to the user by putting it in the prefs, i prefare on the buttom because on the left is the open apps if it on the rigth not enough room for displaying calender nice work congrats

i think microb does it for ease of address input...

but yes, for pure button bars, i would say that a vertical one makes as much sense as a horizontal one...

oh, and on start time, maybe put in some defaults. if its the first of the day, start it at start of work day, and have a default length (half hour maybe?). the next added will then automatically resume from where the last one ends and so on...

Great work dude. Other than the above mentioned time sync problem, everything works great... I'm actually starting to dig on the UI layout in .95 the more I use it. Considering the amount of space you have to work with, the pop up month view is just dandy.

Perhaps a date marker like a diagonal line or shading, to show what days have scheduled events, is all that is needed.

Edit: This morning I wanted to delete an item and I did so on Gcal via the web, it did not delete it on Mcal during sync.
