But it's only the overlay - and maemo-mapper doesn't support satellite plus overlay - so it won't work.

I have been having the same problems that a lot of people talk about, and the '/etc/sudoers' trick didn't help me either. I have been reading that there is a '/dev/rfcomm' trick out there, but I can't find any info

Can anyone help?

Hi,
you have to modify the /etc/bluetooth/rfcomm.conf file (root access needed). Replace the values in the file with your own values (your gps MAC address) and change the value of BIND to yes.
In maemo-mapper, in the place where the MAC address should be, put /dev/rfcomm0

reboot and enjoy

I kept looking after my post this morning, and I found a Bluetooth plugin for the status bar. Using the same string '/dev/rfcomm0' in the MAC field worked. (After connectiong the BT plugin). If that gives me any trouble, I'll try your suggestion.

Thanks for the tip

Hi at all.
I have a problem: my mapper doesnt start anymore.

I changed the maps path and the program emediatly exits.
Now it doesnt start up at all.

So I guess it is because of the wrong path. what can i do? where s this path saved?
uninstalling and reinstlling didnt help.

thanks in advance.

that pass doesn't exist.
I have

/var/lib/gconf/apps/indt
/var/lib/gconf/apps/maemo
/var/lib/gconf/apps/maemopadplus
/var/lib/gconf/apps/osso
/var/lib/gconf/apps/osso-adressbook

and I have /var/lib/gconf/apps/%gconf.xml.
But not in the folder maemo-mapper.

Is that the correct file? Can not open it with my 770 to see if its the right one.

EDIT

Ah. I have
/var/lib/gconf/apps/maemo/maemo-mapper/%gconf.xml

I guess thats the right one. Thanks!

I removed
/var/lib/gconf/apps/maemo/maemo-mapper/%gconf.xml
and
/home/user/apps/meamo-mapper (including all mapps)

After a reinstall it worked again!
Thanks!
