diablo dual booting on N810

i just sold my n800 and got a n810 instead.
i just flashed the firmware to diablo and now working perfectly.

now im so confused to install the sd dual booting on mu n810. i just read the threads and found out that installing or getting the dual booting to work on n810 is a diffrent process than on the n800.

i have success installation on my n800. but now having difficulties on this N810. is there a wili guide for dual boooting on N810 with diablo? id already checked the wili page and i think its for N800 and not for diablo.

i tried installing penguinbaits bootinstaller. it installs ok.... but when i reboot it just says booting from flash. i dont even have the options to choose where to boot just like on my N800.

hope someone can help me on this... thanks a million:confused:

Re: diablo dual booting on N810

The only differences between the N800 and N810 relate to the internal memory vs. internal card slot, I think. Should have no relation to the bootmenu stuff.

Do you anticipate dual-booting an iPhone 3g will be easier or less annoying?

I have an N810 with diablo and loaded Penguinbaits Boot to SD for N800/N810 Internal MMC .. worked fine.

Penguinbait has a trick somewhere that you have to run 2 commands to get it to always ask which to boot from.. i am looking for those now..

Try running something in here??

Also if the device is plugged in it doesn't fully shut off... and wont ask when you reboot.. make sure you turn it off with the device unplugged..

You could try manually installing the bootmenu, with Fanoush's initfs_flasher...

Big thanks or sexy ilove is NOT enough ;) . You own fatalsaint a thorough report, what does NOT work, or at least the error message, and what changes you made to make it work.

You beat me to it..

Glad I could help Ice but post what the problem was and how you fixed it so that others can benefit if they have similar problems with dual booting. More knowledge on this forum the better.

i just did what it says and after i reboot it ask me where to boot... :)
so this is probably what im missing thats why i cant boot from mmc.

now that i know this i cloned chinook on the external memcard using PB's clone to external mmc. and my INternal mmc is diablo together with the flash.

but what ive noticed is that, i have 8GB external mmc. after i cloned chinook usind PB's clone to ext mmc the only available left is about 4XX MB. (cant remember the exact digits)

im not that familiar with the size of an OS clone, but it partition my ext mmc and just left me a little space for storage.

another thing... on the diablo OS i get annoyed with the internal application error. email closed thing. so i decided to do it all again and just reflash my N810 to chinook.

i will just go back to diablo if that anoying internal application error is fixed.

thanks guys for the help!!!

Re: diablo dual booting on N810

I think you might be seeing the 512mb FAT partition that IIRC PB's installer will make on a 8gb.. on an 8gb SD card you should have at least 6-7gb free depending how much software was installed on your chinook before cloning.

I cloned to my internal 2gb and had 1.5gb left after the 128mb FAT partition and the OS loaded.

If you boot to the external card and run df -h in a terminal; what do you see?
