Re: Microdc2 - port of command-line based Direct Connect client

Some tricks ;)
HUB usually set the minimal share limit (e.g. 5Gb)
With a 4Gb SDHC Card it's a problem :)
But there is a problem decision
You must have Card with ext2 file system. or partition. (It's work only on ext2-like FS, non FAT)
Make file (on card - in sared folder) with real size 1Mb but trick size ~2Gb:
Code:

dd if=/dev/zero of=test1 count=1 bs=1M seek=2000
:) Welcome!

..and you'll be booted right after an operator checked your file share. Please don't follow advices like this one. There are probably hubs which welcome you to chat if you ask nice, but if you don't ask and just share nonsense you deserve a big fat IP ban.

I said it many times and I say it again: the NIT is not meant for P2P purposes. Run your P2P application remotely and use SSH or Rdesktop or whatever to control it from the NIT.

Certainly, it is your choice.
It is possible even simply reshare access to a folder on the bigcomputer through Samba, NFS (Wizard Mounter).
Certainly, I with pleasure share all that I have.
But what can I do if I have magnet, and a file to me is necessary right now right here, and in hands only NIT with the small card and bigcomputer nearby is not present... Not I have set minimal share limit, but HUB. What for to me INTERNET Tablet? What to use possibilities of the Internet only under the care of a mainframe computer?

Look, if the operators are cool with it, sure, you're all set. But you should ask them first. Just doing that you described is considered rude. If you already have a computer on you can run DC on that. You could run 2 clients, one with share, one on the NIT (e.g. to chat) -- but ask the operators first. That is my point... :)
