Just received my Kingston 8G after 2 week. I did not know they are in HK!

Let's wait and see how this card holds up.

I jumped on that Amazon deal as well for my N810.

I emailed Kingston on this as it wasn't on their web site. They said they don't make an 8Gb miniSD. The largest is 1Gb. So it's either not Kinston (most likely) or not 8gb.

Finding anything above 2gb in MiniSD is nearly impossible. Hence why I went with MicroSD and an adapter.

OR BOTH! lol!

HAHA i have to agree - look at the picture of the packaging - the package says 8gb but the card inside the package clearly says 1gb. This has DODGEY written all over it - also the 8 on the package is a different font and shade of blue. I really cant believe some of the dodgey dealings out there

I ordered an item from focalprice.com just want to see how this shop is. I ordered a Kingston CF 50X 4G, I received it in 10 days, and I popped it into my Canon, sure it reads 4 G. My first purchase from them is satisfactory, so far.

It seems funny with this card for sure and I cannot figure out why yet.

I formatted it and it said it had 8088 x 1M.

I cloned the OS in the 2nd partition and left 7G for vfat. I did copy 5G of music in there too.
However, if I booted from flash then I can write to it otherwise I can't.

If it is not 8G they did a good magic on it. I haven't found any bad mp3 file yet.

yeah, i'd be pretty sure it would be 8gb - they couldnt get away with that.... however, its not hard to print 'Kingston' on to the cards - i've bought OEM cards in Japan that look exactly like the Panasonic ones only without 'Panasonic' printed on them.... although i've seen other manufacturers use this style before too - Kingston used to use it and just put a sticker on the bottom half.....

something like this http://www.cell.com.au/catalog/images/SD_Card_2GB.jpg

I'm not so sure about that even I haven't found bad files yet. It is extremely slow (may be 1-bit transfer?)

Do they have embedded firmware in those cards? If they do they can alter and fake anything they like but it's funny to think people would not try to design good things but only try to fake good things real well.

That's the world we are living now. sad. and I'd not buy anything from them anymore for sure after learning Kingston does not make 4g mini.

@bun: I am not so sure about the 4G CF either! I have one from them !
