Wait, wait-- I haven't seen anything first hand. Just presentations and stuff. Hey, that's little more than rumor, right? Like internet stuff. Engadget-grade material. Yeah.

Hee.

Can I just make up all kinds of stuff and call it rumor to see how far it'll go?

OK.. here's what I want!

The Nokia N1000! It'll be made of a polymorphic metal alloy and it'll have any interface you want and any kind of button placement you want. It'll automatically detect and present you with an appropriate interface depending on what you press up against the screen--your stylus, your finger and various body parts. As well, the screen is also a color light sensor so it doubles as the camera so that it'll work as a web cam, photo camera and page scanner. The battery life is expected to be relatively infinite thanks to a new type of battery, each of which contains an unusually stabilized black hole power source. Once spent, you will need to properly dispose of this power source at your nearest galaxy's central hub to which all things pretty much go for their end of life.

:)

OK.. yah, I'm in a weird mood. :P

Expensive or not, free beer is the best kind of beer! :)

Not good enough. It also needs to do face recognition, and if it detects Karel's mug, throw up the appropriate placating apology before shutting itself down in shame :-)

Having waited till the conference....

while there seems to be some good news on what will be included in the next tablet... it seems we are at a loss for any hope of one this year...

Yup, you've got it right... The short answer to this question is "No" (excluding WE of course).

There will be no tablet this year. The developer alpha SDK is out November'ish and the Beta, first quarter 2009. From the information we already know, my guess is that the tablet will be released for the consumer in the summer with developers getting theirs around the time of the beta SDK launch.

All guesstimates though!
