Chris : I have added to the Canola backlog for a while now the "support" for usb and other mounted drives in the settings tab, but you will be able to do it even without it.

About the 50.000 to be honest the maximum we have tested was 16.000 songs :)

It's more about Sqlite than Canola, as most list uses lazy loading :) but getting covers will probably take a lot of time :))) tip : uncheck all options but amazon before doing it

we are trying to make most fixes to this core things... so this would be a killer if we could find and kill it :)

There are new versions of Canola and the Tuning Plugin in the extras-devel repository. We hope those are the final packages for beta10.

A quick question - Canola is great. There has long been promised an FM radio plugins as well as support for video podcasts - are there any signs of these at all, or have they quietly died a death. If so, it would be a shame as with them Canola would take care of all my media needs, and I really really like the interface.

I just installed Canola after uninstalling beta9 to upgrade to the last Diablo SSU (not enough space on the internal memory), and found that I can only open music, and photos, there is no video icon, no youtube, last.fm, internet radio, podcast, etc. and the settings screen it's very simple, missing some options, it's like Canola can't load any plugins beside music and photos.
Does anyone has the same problem? I already tried uninstalling Canola, running Canola cleanup, and reinstalling Canola.
How can I get all the plugins working again?

Ihave the same exact problem, I only have audio and photo menus, no matter what plugins I have installed.

is there a way to fix this?

Try running from xterm as root...does that enable all the plugins?

I'm not sure if this is the right way to do it from xterm, but it seems that it starts loading canola, I get the glimpse of a green canola screen that immediately disappears and gives me this error:

I managed to reproduce with canola -vv. In xterm I see endless sequence of

Tried running Canola from the root shell:
/home/user # canola

Takes some time to load Canola, once it finishes loading, I just get a blank screen with the background, the clock on the top left of the screen and "Canola" on the top center of the screen, no icons and no back arrow in the bottom left, nothing else.

After closing Canola from the Home menu I get this from the shell:

Opening Canola again from the menu, I still have no plugins... only Audio and Photos.

Edit: I'll try to update to the extras-devel version.
Edit 2: I discovered that I'm already running latest version.
