Re: ANNOUNCE: Easy Debian Turbo-Charged Edition!

mandrake64: please reboot your tablet and use the Debian Chroot icon in your menu. Please post the messages you get before the [root@Debian: /] prompt.

Re: ANNOUNCE: Easy Debian Turbo-Charged Edition!

hi qole, here it is!
thank you for your quick interest.

Setting up the chroot...
using device: /media/mmc1/debian-final.img.ext2
insmod: cannot insert '/mnt/initfs/lib/modules/2.6.21-omap1/mbcache.ko': File exists (-1): File existsUsing ext2 file system
insmod: cannot insert '/mnt/initfs/lib/modules/2.6.21-omap1/ext2.ko': File exists (-1): File exists
using /media/mmc1/debian-final.img.ext2 on the turbo-loop ;)
insmod: cannot insert '/lib/modules/2.6.21-omap1/dm-mod.ko': File exists (-1): File exists
insmod: cannot insert '/lib/modules/2.6.21-omap1/dm-loop.ko': File exists (-1): File exists
device-mapper: create ioctl failed: Device or resource busy
Command failed

mandrake64: If you just rebooted (shut right off, then turned on again), I don't understand why you would be getting these errors:
Code:

insmod: cannot insert '/lib/modules/2.6.21-omap1/dm-mod.ko': File exists (-1): File exists
insmod: cannot insert '/lib/modules/2.6.21-omap1/dm-loop.ko': File exists (-1): File exists
device-mapper: create ioctl failed: Device or resource busy

Are you running something else that uses the dmsetup or dmlosetup commands, or uses the loop0 device?

This is a very puzzling error.

My hildon-desktop never freezes or crashes with my iGo, :S but I can say that I can consistently reproduce this bug now by opening OpenOffice, letting my keyboard sleep, and then press a button on the keyboard to cause this to happen.

Re: ANNOUNCE: Easy Debian Turbo-Charged Edition!

@ qole,
Everything is OK now. I have uninstalled debian chroot and redownloaded and reinstalled ,it is working now. The problem was corrupted download .It is very cool, Thanks for your great job. I have some questions about debian linux:
1. How can we change the desktop resolution? Because, when iceweasel opens windows not fit the desktop and fonts a little big, so when a popup opens I can't see bottom of the window.
2. I couldn't change font color in the Open office writer. There is a button on the menu but when I click no color scale appears.
3. I couldn't write text on the slide in Presentation program.
4. There is a problem in the second keyboard(xv keyboard). Generally, when I click a character one time it writes many characters like aaaaa.
5. Is the Java script active on the Iceweasel browser? Must we install other java package especially for internet banking sites.
Thanks in advance

Whew. That's good. Because I had no idea what was wrong.

You can either use the "Toggle Movable Windows" if the too-big window is a dialog box, or if it is a window, you can use "Debian HW Keys" then hit (+) and (FullScreen) keys to get fullscreen. That's about all you can do. Changing resolution really isn't an option (without using VNC server)...

I haven't had those problems, but I haven't tried to change font colour in OpenOffice Writer.

This is a known issue. You have to open the XVKB menu by clicking on the button on the lower left and turn Automatic Click to OFF.

Both Java and JavaScript are available. Should work with banking sites.

No problems with changing font colour through the menu command in ooowriter; I don't have such shortcut on the button bar so didn't test that.

@qole,
there is a problem about desktop panel(left bar), it has disappeared after some settings and I couldn't back it. How can I fix it?
Thanks

Re: ANNOUNCE: Easy Debian Turbo-Charged Edition!

Hi

I uninstalled easy Debian and deleted the image file. I have now booted off my SD card and want to re-install it, however whenever I try to load Easy Debian it gets part way and says that it is unable to install.

Would having a partial installation cause problems?

Any suggestions?

Thanks
Steve
