There's a alpha version available in the Extras-devel repository.

Note that the software in this repository is unstable and can introduce errors in your system, for more info read this: http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php...extras+warning

Indeed,

The first time I wasn't able to make a connection from my N900, then I did an attempt by 'wait for conncection' which was a succes as the 'HID' option now appeared (windows xp). From that point I was able to connect in any manner.

The physical keyboard doesn't work as it immediately opens the adres book or phone (letters or numbers respectively).

Otherwise - even without the physical keyboard - still quite usable. I use it to control my second monitor from the living room, which functions as a tv in a dual screen lay out.

This is the keyboard input focus problem. See this thread for details.

You need to remove any previous pairings between the N900 and your pc, and pair again using BlueMaemo, because windows keeps a record of the phone available services and the HID service is not there by default.

VDVsx, do you think you could do a little hack as in the thread I linked to, until the libraries are fixed?

Re: Introducing BlueMaemo

Using a Belking Bluetooth Dongle I followed the instructions and after like 10 remoev -> pair again attempts I finally got the BlueMaemo app to connect to the PC (Windows 7). Most of the time it just says "could not connect, damn." When I finally get the connection established I tried using the mouse, and after few seconds it just disconnects me (and cursor never moves either).

Now the problem was the HID device drivers not installing, which I now got sorted. When I go into the properties of the Bluetooth device, and Services tab I see Nokia Sync ML, Bluetooth Modem etc and depending on the moons position from 1 to 4 "Drivers for keyboard, mouse, etc (HID)". However, when I tick any of those and hit apply, it reloads the services tab and it's still unticked. If I choose them all it says "parameter error" and reloads as empty again.

I'll fiddle more, but I'm quite unsure what might be the actual bottleneck here, any suggestions?

Humm, never used Win 7, but let's try something.
There are two connection methods, the first one the connection is requested by your PC, in the second one is the N900 that requests the connection. Note that these methods are only needed when connecting for the first time, after that you can use the reconnect option.

1 - PC Requests the connection:

* Remove any existent pairings between your N900 and your computer (in both devices).
* Start BlueMaemo and select "Wait for connection".
* In your PC go to the bluetooth preferences and choose ‘Add a new device’(or something similar).
* Pair the devices.

2 - N900 requests the connection:

* Remove any existent pairings between your N900 and your computer (in both devices).
* Start BlueMaemo and select "Establish connection".
* Pair the devices.

Please let me know the result of these instructions.

On related news, I've finally started a wiki page[1] to gather these instructions, any contribution is very welcome, specially instructions for MAC OSX and Vista :)

Re: Introducing BlueMaemo

First of all, thanks for the app! It looks fantastic and was one of the reasons I got the N900.

I cannot, however, seem to get it working with my x64 Win7 install. I've tried removing previous connections, tried both wait for connection and establish connection.

Both times it SEEMS to work, Win7 pairs with bluemaemo and begins to install 6 drivers. It installs 3, including the HID one, but it can't seem to find the three others. After the failed driver installs, the N900 get's slapped with a yellow warning triangle in the devices window on the pc. Bluemaemo often thinks it has successfully connected to the pc and shows me the screen with mouse, keyboard media remote etc. None of them work, and after a few seconds of trying it says that it lost connection to the pc.

I know it's alpha, so this will probably work when the final is released. Is there anything I might be doing wrong, or is there anything I can still try?

But hey, keep up the good work on this seemingly great app! ^_^
