And we're discussing this topic in depth in this little technology forum because some geeks (mostly from Europe?) are going to amend the constitution of the United States and eliminate change the second amendment... ;)

We sound kinda silly, eh?

(Btw, if someone tried to rob me or my family with a gun ~or nuclear weapon~, I would definitely shoot them at the first opportunity. ;))

Luckily the 1st amendment affords us the rights to discuss gun control on this wonderful technology forum.

Obviously... I didn't ask if we had the right to, I just asked "why". And I pointed out how silly we sound debating (bickering?) when we should all be friends and strive to develop awesome software and community  Instead of arguing aboot' guns.

Well its in off topic, and your reading it so you must have found some interest? I rather enjoy hearing other peoples opinions no matter how crazy I think they may be. It's all about perspective. Sometimes you can understand other peoples perspective and learn something, sometimes you can't

Lets be clear ;)

I said I think some peoples opinions may be crazy, this may cause them to become paranoid ;)

Paranoia I can understand, and can be a very healthy emotion. I am just not sure I will ever be paranoid enough to think a pistol, or hunting rifle isn't enough to protect myself and my family. Not that I own either..

I guess if things end up like "Road Warrior", your gonna be in a better position than me. Although, I am pretty sure we're both screwed...

Of course.. I might be missing your point again ;).

Yup. And, deliberately it appears.

I'm taking it you don't see the irony in your own words...?

Not sure if this was rhetorical or not.. but the only way I see it is if you take the term "farmers with pitchforks" to be literal.. which it wasn't intended.

I later did say they had AK-47's (plus various other small arms) and rather crude homemade explosives. Just an example of a sort of 'freedom fighters' putting up a fight, even in today's technologically advanced world with superior firearms. And apparently doing a good enough job to make us want to crawl home to mommy.

But again.. I'm dancing around in circles while you're just laughing at me. (figuratively, of course.)
