The highse capacity memory card

Hi,
What is the highest memory card it is possible to use on N800 umnder OS Chinok?
Is it possible fore instance to use 2 cards od 16GB each?
Would it be a better possibility if upgrading to Diablo?
Thankyou

You can use a card as big as you can find.

16GB is fine. I have seen the tablet handle 500GB usb drives, so no worries.

For what it's worth, I used a 16GB card pre-Diablo.

Quite an interesting term to use - handle!

Yes, it reads reliably 500 GB usb drive. Writing is a different story though. It writes reliably with the AC supported USB drive, it writes chaotically on the non-AC supported palm size USB drive. Even on a 16 G flash drive, it writes chaotically. Bottom line, reads ok, writes .... chaotically.s

Edit: I see what is the problem here. It should be " It reads reliably with the AC supported USB drive...... Sorry, everybody.

Most larger USB drives use more than 100mA, which means you'll need to use a powered hub. :)

The tablets will support up to 2048GB without issue.

Thankyou all,
But I was asking about sd card and not a usb drive, as I remember, there used to be problems using cards bigger than 8gb at the former os versions, so are they over when using chinook?
What does it mean that it writes chaotically? Does it mean it is not recommended using hi capacity cards?
Thankyou

No problems with 16G SDHC. Haven't tried 32G becasue haven't bought it yet!

Like I said, it supports 2048GB without issue. SDHC support was added to the official kernel last July.

Just ignore it. It was something unrelated to cards.

I do NOT like to be ignored, just kiddng. However, that is the easiet answer.

GA is 'essentially' correct. Yes. If you stick the SDHC into the tablet, it works, r/w, 100 %, you may stop reading here.

But if you are thinking about USB drive, which also means, USB card reader, writing is chaotic, even with 4G card! Chaotic is chaotic. It sometimes work, MOST time dont and 1 out 3 times will reboot your tablet! I am NOT sure power consumption is the ONLY problem in writing to USB drive, which includes USB card reader, which also means it is, well, related to cards :-) . AC supported large drive does seem to fare better, still, 1 out 3 will hang your tablet or reboot. I think USB host is problematic.

Anyhow, if you just stick your card into the tablet, I repeat, everybody is RIGHT, r/w 100%, no concern. But if you have to use USB card reader, today, writing is chaotic.

Thanks GA for the 'powered hub', I tried that already, no difference. Sometime, even a keyboard need to use powered hub, sometimes it just work. There is something going on with USB host that we do not quite understand. And I have NOT been able to get a trend yet.
