Re: New name for internet tablet
Good to have a discussion on the terminology for devices being built on Maemo. We are stepping up efforts in making Maemo stronger supporting the high-performance processor OMAP3 and HSPA data connectivity as announced in the Maemo Summit 2008. We will be able to built different kind of high-performance multimedia computers with touch screen that fit into your pocket. How to call these devices that are somewhat a crossover of Mobile Internet Devices, Netbooks and Smart Handhelds? I'm open to hear your suggestion.

Re: New name for internet tablet
I decided a while ago to stick with 'netbook' when I talk about my baby in public. It describes best what it is/does and keeps people from asking the "phone"-question. (It is a netbook, after all... why invent yet another term?)

Re: New name for internet tablet
Pocketpenguin? I like it but maybe corporate branding might have a problem with that term. ;-)
Netbook? Shouldn't a netbook have MS office documents editors on board in the eye of the general consumer? |
