Could you be a little more detailed in your question, that might help get a reply.

Like Odin, I've just typed this entry using the thumb keyboard.

I do find using it to enter urls a little odd as you need to minimise the keyboard for the return key to be actioned. Same thing in xterm.

Hope that helps.

so that is how you do it.

Dumb question maybe -- How do you invoke the thumb keyboard in OS2006? For the life of me I can't figure it out.

Tap the screen with a surface bigger than the stylus point - - such as your thumb. The 770 will pick up on that and pop up the thumb board instead of the mini onscreen keyboard. Might take a few tries. It'll make a weird 'zip' noise right before it pops up. (Try it in notepad, I believe you need to click on a text entry area for it to work)

Additionally you can hit the center button of the D pad when you are in a text field. I can't get my thumb to work (may be my screen protector).

Got it thanks. Anyone know the best way to remove sunscreen from a 770 screen?

Hedgecore 2006-07-27 17:03

Sunscreen oughtta be oil based so I'd use a VERY, VERY mild soap and keep it away from the edges. I don't know how sensitive the screen is and I'd be scared to put anything other than a moist soft cloth near it.

Screen activation may have to be set somewhere.

I haven't been able to get the "press anywhere" to work either--the center button always works.
