"daliclock" is a simple clock ap that displays the time in large letters. You can select colors. The Salvador Dali part comes from how the clock digits change. At night I just tap the screen to see the time without having to search for glasses. The ap is well behaved power wise.

I have found out why the alarm clock did not work for me. At the time it did not work I almost tried to wipe out the OS but the reason was very simple: one of the audio app has audio-disabled then is closed; it would interfere with the audio and causes the alarm not working.

So try to open whatever audio app you have to see if it has disabled sound or not. If it did, restore sound and close it. Alarm clock should work; at least, that worked for me.

Good luck !

Sounds interesting. Can you give a link please? I looked in the repos and didn't find it anywhere. Thanks.

I've also observed that, sometimes the tablet fails to get out of a muted state so I just unmute before I Zzzz... :)

I was having alarm problems until I realized that powerlaunch was the problem. Not many people use that, so it probably isn't going to be an issue for most.

I like dali-clock too for waking up in the middle of the night, but I wanted a bigger font, to use the entire screen. So I made this simple clock that goes full screen, I'll try to attach here.
Launch it in xterm: ./redclock
or with personal-launcher- if you extract to your documents folder, then the "command to execute" would be:
/home/user/MyDocs/.documents/redclock/redclock

the only button that works is "esc" to exit. You can also use the home button if your device has one.

You can use the +/- key to zoom the clock display with daliclock. It will remember the last setting of +/-.
