Edit: I've installed gpodder now and it seems to work just fine. It appends the files to the playlist and maybe that's changed from the previous versions. |

For example I open an audio file (for example Couleur3) If i open an other file (Nova for example) panucci doesn't understand and always play Couleur3 |
Re: Panucci Podcast and Audiobook Player
Yes they're appended to the playlist. The first one you add plays and the next one is just appended. Check the playlist and see if they're there.
Edit: Hmm, wonders why the behaviour is different than the other version? Edit2: This is probably something I've changed myself. Which way is the best? And how did it work before? |
Re: Panucci Podcast and Audiobook Player
I'm not really sure if this behavior has changed or not.
I have the stady habit to click close at panucci to switch back to gpodder to play the next track because the player was not starting with the audio track if it was already opened. Could be more than a year ago. I'm not sure. This workaround worked very well for me. ;) But at the moment there is definitifly something wrong. It is starting the current audio file again and again from the beginning. If the audio file was paused it is continuing from the actual position. I have to sleep now. Will check it tomorning again at the way to work. If you're actually playing a podcast it could be very annoying if the new file is simply opened and played. At minimum there should be a bookmark or something else to find the last played position again. Or we should continue to play the current podcast and show a message that the new podcast is added to the playlist. (I like the second possibility more for podcasts and the first if I would use panucci for music - but for this I use already the Media Player) ;) |
Re: Panucci Podcast and Audiobook Player
Okay, a other thing I liked before has changed. (and I must admit, I've done the update just yesterday - I have currently no w-lan and apt-get update dissipates a lot of my monthly GPRS volume)
Before: If the last (or current) track was finished the playback stoped and the audiofile stayed open at the end of the track. So I was able to rewind 10 seconds if I missed something at the end. Now it stops and if I press play the playback begins from the start. (not very well if I want to jump fast to minute 30 because if I hit the end by accident the playback stops immediately again and I have to press play and seek from the beginning a second time to find the last 10 seconds) Pause and stay at the end was obviously better for podcasts and audiobooks. The reason No1 for Panucci - at least for me. For other stuff I use the built in Media Player. I would say the best solution is:
Just my two cents. :) Are there other opinions? |
Re: Panucci Podcast and Audiobook Player
Hi folks,
Add me to the list of people initially confused by the latest update and now annoyed by it. I kept getting the same podcast over and over and over again. Eventually, after uninstalling and reinstalling the app I discovered, like others have, that new files sent fro gpodder were just being added to the playlist. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh! So, that's the problem. Does anyone have a fix that will allow for tracks sent to Panucci be played instantly.... just like they always used to be. Note to the developer of this great app: I think you may have to learn to leave this app alone now. Randomly changing the core functionality of it only serves to alienate your users. |

I also found out yesterday that Maemo has its own menu and it's very incomplete so if anyone wants to fix that that would be awesome. It should be fairly easy to do if you have a n900.
