Re: Tear 0.3 - Simple WebKit browser, now with Dashboard
i guess thats a potential problem with extra-devel. you cant really say that you only want it to be used for a single app. at least not with the app manager gui (one could probably drill into the apt config guts and do all kinds of things).

if i try apt-get install tear libwebkit-1.0-1 i get libwebkit-1.0-1: Depends: libidn11 (>= 0.5.18) not installable so the missing package should be libidn11. if i enable extras-devel and apt-get install libidn11 i got installed libidn11 0.6.5-1 with no other package. so if libidn11 0.6.5-1 from extras-devel should be considered unsafe you could include a safe version of libidn11 (>=0.5.18) in your repo. what version of libidn11 do you have? |
Re: Tear 0.3 - Simple WebKit browser, now with Dashboard
I don't think there's any other libidn11 available anyway :)

Re: Tear 0.3 - Simple WebKit browser, now with Dashboard
Here's what my tablet says. I was right, I'm getting it from Chinook extras.
Code:
Qole-Deux:~# apt-cache policy libidn11EDIT: I've added the libidn11 package from Chinook extras to my repository, so you don't have to add extras-devel or chinook-extras. |

Re: Tear 0.3 - Simple WebKit browser, now with Dashboard
so i guess i could tell apt to pin everything from devel below whats from extra, exept for select apps?

Re: Tear 0.3 - Simple WebKit browser, now with Dashboard
i'm not so strong in apt-pinning, you could check this http://wiki.debian.org/AptPinning for further information.
you shouldn't need it anymore for tear |
Re: Tear 0.3 - Simple WebKit browser, now with Dashboard
I can confirm that the new version in my repository triggers an update notice for users of previous versions. Both libwebkit and tear show up as updatable when I add my repository to my secondary tablet, which was running an older version of tear.
So hurrah. |
